ACLU MASSACHUSETTS: FREEDOM UNFINISHED

INSIDE THE LOOK

As the main podcast visual designer for the Gusto team, I had the privilege of designing the official look and all the promotional assets for the “Freedom Unfinished’ podcast from the ACLU of Massachusetts. When I heard what the name of the podcast series was going to be called, I knew I wanted to get across a sense of separation and distance. I utilized abstract shapes, creating breaks in ACLU branded images to get across the sense that the images were “unfinished.” I also broke up the letters of the title to create missing pieces and further the separated feeling.

MOOD BOARDS

This design used a scrapbook design combined with images that represent the ACLU brand and the US political divide.

This design used abstract shapes, bright contrasting colors, and ACLU branded images to create a sense of things being broken apart.

This design took inspiration from vintage poster designs to give the effect of a campaign poster.

DESIGN ITERATIONS

ANIMATION

Created animated promotional ads using the podcast cover design to advertise the first season of Freedom Unfinished on the ACLU MA’s social media accounts.

AUDIOGRAMS

Led the design and production of audiograms for the promotion of the podcast across social accounts. Audiograms add a visual aspect to a snippet of audio from the podcast recordings to call attention to an important point made in the episode.
